A number of Garda cars were involved in a lengthy pursuit across the county today following an incident which started in Dunfanaghy.

Officers spotted four people in a red Audi A4 driving dangerously on the beach and tried to apprehend the driver.

The driver fled and drove off in the direction of Letterkenny and was again spotted by Gardai on the dual carriageway.

The car was then driven at high-speed through Raphoe and towards Castlefin where Gardai attempted to use a stinger to bring the car to a halt.

However, despite catching one of the wheels, the car managed to get away.

A Garda car was damaged when it was rammed by the suspect vehicle near Doneyloop but thankfully no Gardai were injured.

The car eventually managed to flee across the border towards Castlederg.

However, Gardai liaised with their PSNI colleagues, and the car was located and two females were located while two other males are still being sought.
