Gardaí are investigating the theft of high-value power tools from a home under construction on the outskirts of Letterkenny.

The burglary occurred at Stralongford, on the back road from Letterkenny to Drumkeen, between Friday night and Saturday morning (sometime between 5pm – 11am).

Thieves had targetted a house that is currently being built but had doors and windows installed. Entry was gained after cinder blocks were taken from under the front door.

A number of DeWalt power tools “of substantial value” were stolen from the house.

Gardaí are now appealing for any information in relation to this crime. If anyone saw anything suspicious on this road, or if anyone has been asked to buy tools in suspicious circumstances, they are asked to call Letterkenny Garda Station on 074) 916 7100 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
