Daniel and Majella O’Donnell have taken the modern approach to birthday celebrations after their dream cruise holiday was cancelled due to Covid-19.
Social distancing didn’t stop the couple celebrating Majella’s 60th on Tuesday as they took the party online.
Logging on to Zoom, the O’Donnell’s caught up with family via video chat. Majella even got to blow out the candles on her cake in the virtual company of her nearest and dearest.
The couple had originally planned to set sail on a cruise for Majella’s milestone birthday. Daniel had also organised a special gift for Majella as her children Siobhan and Michael, who live in Australia, were due to surprise her on the trip.
But with the holiday cancelled, they instead opted to raise a glass safely at home in Donegal.
