Online shoppers are being warned to be extra vigilant during the Covid-19 isolation period due to the reemergence of a delivery scam.
The scam, which relates to people pretending to be from DPD Ireland, targets people asking for payment for a parcel delivery over the phone.
DPD have confirmed that the company will never request credit card details from a consignee.
The alert was raised this week after a customer received a telephone call from someone requesting credit card details in order to receive a delivery.
As online shopping increases during the Covid-19 crisis, customers are being advised to be aware of this scam.
“Should an incident like this come to your attention, please report to the Gardaí,” said a notice from DPD Ireland.
