Covid-19: 43 more deaths and 724 new cases confirmed

THERE have been 43 more deaths from Covid-19 recorded in the Republic of Ireland – – the highest number in a single day.

There have been 486 Covid-19 deaths in the Republic of Ireland since the outbreak of the virus.  One death has been denotified, meaning the death toll is 486 and not 487.

An additional 724 further cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed, with 629 in Irish laboratories and 95 reported by a laboratory in Germany.

There are now a total of 13,271 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

Of today’s deaths 34 were in the east, four were in the west and five in the south.

On the island of Ireland, 61 Covid-19 related deaths were confirmed today – the most in one day since the outbreak.

In total on the island of Ireland there have now been 14,635 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 584 people have sadly died as a result.
