Donegal Daily is celebrating a month of poetry with the #WeAreThePoetsDonegal series, in association with Poetry Ireland.
Throughout April, we will share daily poetry by established writers from across the county.
This series invites you to take a moment to read, enjoy or share poetry in the lead up to Poetry Day Ireland on Thursday 30 April 2020.
Today’s featured poet is Little John Nee
About the poet:
Little John Nee is a playwright, performer and musician based in the west of Ireland; he received an Irish Times Theatre Sound Design Award for “Sparkplug” and a Prix Italia Special Mention Award for the RTE radio version. Other plays include The Derry Boat, Johnny Patterson The Singing Irish Clown and Radio Rosario. His work is frequently set in Donegal, and several of his shows were produced by An Grianan Theatre and Earagail Arts Festival, most recently in “Tea Dance” a collaboration with Fionn Robinson and Jeremy Howard. In 2016 he was elected to Aosdána and is currently “Virtual Artist in Residence” at the Regional Cultural Centre Letterkenny.
