Seven critical care beds are vacant at the hospital.

The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) met yesterday to review Ireland’s response to Covid-19. As a result, a census of mortality across all residential care facilities will be carried out this weekend, beginning in nursing homes. The data will include all Covid-19 and non-Covid-19 deaths. Over the next week, testing of staff and residents in all long-term residential care facilities will be prioritised. It is hoped that testing capacity can be expanded to 100,000 tests per week.
