THE Finn Valley Centre in Stranorlar has been named as Sports Complex of the Year for 2020 by EU Business News.

The venue, the home of the Finn Valley Athletics Club, has undergone several transformations over the years, with a new 25m swimming pool and leisure facility opening in 2013.

The complex oats a state-of-the-art athletics track with associated facilities, two outdoor pitches, warm-up area, a 35m indoor hall, weights room, changing areas, meetings rooms and the Valley Bistro.

Just last week, it was announced that the en suite accommodation block at the Finn Valle Centre would be used to house healthcare workers during the Covid-19 emergency.

Management at the Finn Valley Centre have made the facility available to nurses and doctors for the duration of their fight against the Covid-19 virus.

The revamped accommodation block, done in partnership with Co-Host.ie, has capacity for 24 people with associated facilities available, including smart TVs, kitchenette, showers, WiFi.

“We are very proud of the facilities we have at the Finn Valley Centre,” said Patsy McGonagle of Finn Valley AC.

“We have always been at the heart of the local community in the Finn Valley are and it is something we are very proud to have carried all through our history.

“It is always nice to be acknowledged and it’s great for the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to get some recognition.”

EU Business News is circulated to 100,000 C-suite executives and leading decision makers in EU countries and runs Enterprise Awards across Europe every year.
