Thirteen more people have died in Northern Ireland as result of Covid-19, it has been confirmed today.
The total number of deaths in the region is now 207.
There were 40 people with the virus in intensive care units as of this morning, Health Minister Robin Swann announced.
Minister Swann said that around 1,500 people will die within the first 20 weeks of the coronavirus outbreak in Northern Ireland.
This figure is the “worst case scenario”, totalling hospital deaths and community deaths, and is a significant previous on the previous modelling total of 3,000.
The latest number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Northern Ireland has not yet been announced today. As of yesterday, the figure stood at 2,645.
