Forty four more people have died in the Republic of Ireland as a result of Covid-19.
The deaths included two people in the north west, 37 in the east, two in the west and three in the south of the country. The median age of those who died is 87.
The total number of deaths in the country is now 730. The number was revised downwards after the HPSC was ‘de-notified’ of a death as it was confirmed that the deceased did not have Covid-19.
Another 388 new cases have been confirmed, bringing the total to 16,040.
Nine new cases have been confirmed in Donegal up to Sunday, bringing the county total to 392.
The Department of Health also announced today that 8,377 people have completed their recovery from Covid-19. This represents 55% of 15,186 cases which were analysed by the National Public Health Emergency Team.
