Pharmacy staff in the Finn Valley area were treated to some sweet surprises thanks to members of the Finn Valley Men’s Choir.

The choir wanted to sing the praises of their local frontline staff, so they decided to say thank you with some special cupcake deliveries earlier today.

“Many of our members receive regular prescriptions from our local pharmacies, during these extraordinary times they have provided service above and beyond the ordinary,” said project manager Kathleen Bonner.

“Today the project co-ordinator and the choir musical director delivered some sweet treats to all the pharmacies in the Ballybofey, Stranorlar, Convoy Castlefinn and Lifford, just to say thank you.”

The cakes were received with thanks and welcomed as a tasty boost for busy staff.

The Finn Valley Men’s project is a cross border cross community project funded by the International Fund for Ireland.

The project supports men to become involved in men’s groups in their own areas with the aim of promoting dialogue between different communities on both sides of the Border. Finn Valley Men’s Choir is part of the project and it is the only all-male , cross-border cross community choir in the North West.

While they cannot meet in person at the moment, they are still sharing some welcome positivity in their locality.

Kathleen added: “In these unprecedented times, we hope everyone is keeping well and look forward to the day we can all gather round and catch up, and maybe even sing a song or two.

“Stay safe, and be kind, every little thing helps to make the darkest times a little brighter!

“In the words of the late, great Bill Withers, who penned one of our favorite songs to perform; (Lean on Me)

“Sometimes in our lives

We all have pain; we all have sorrow.

But if we are wise,

We know that there’s always tomorrow.”
