A DONEGAL drug-driver who was ‘just out for a spin’ was arrested last night.
The motorist was stopped by Gardaí carrying out a Covid-19 checkpoint in Raphoe.
The driver failed the roadside test, recording positive for the presence of cocaine and cannabis.
“The driver in question had just been out for a ‘spin’,” Gardaí said.
“A ‘spin’ to court will follow. Do not ever drive under the influence of drugs.”
Gardaí in the county have noted a marked increase in motorists driving under the influence of drink and drugs in recent weeks.
