There have been more calls for a water line replacement at Port Uí Chuireáin (Curransport) in West Donegal following another disruption.
Homes and businesses were without water supplies today due to a burst water main in the area. Repair works are underway and expected to be completed by 5pm.
The region has been regularly impacted by bursts over the past year.
Councillor Michael Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig said the issue is ‘unacceptable’ and is calling for action from Irish Water.
Cllr Mac Giolla Easbuig has today reiterated his call for Port Uí Chuireáin to be included in Donegal’s 2020 water mains replacement plans.
“This is absolutely unacceptable that no money has been allocated for this water line. I will keep fighting with Irish Water about this.”
Cllr Mac Giolla Easbuig added he will also be contacting the water authority about the reallocation of funds which were granted to Derryconnor.
