Donegal has 280 cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 people, the latest figures show.
The new official figures were released by the HSE’s Health Surveillance Protection Centre.
Donegal is behind a number of other counties with a great incidence of the virus.
Others counties including Galway, Wicklow, Louth, Meath, Kildare and Monaghan all have greater numbers per head of 100,000 population than Donegal.
Cavan currently has 574 positive cases of Covid-19 accounting for 3.1% of all cases in Ireland.
But per 100,000 people in Cavan, 753.5 would test positive.
Dublin follows close behind with an incidence rate of 684.
Meanwhile, there are now 208 clusters in nursing homes compared to 169 this day last week.
Clusters in residential institutions have also risen from 74 last week to 114.
No information has been released on clusters in individual counties.
Ireland has 601 clusters in total.
There are now 19,262 who have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Republic.
Dublin still remains Ireland’s epicentre with 9224 positive cases, accounting for 50 per cent of Ireland’s total.
