A man was arrested in the Buncrana area last night on suspicion of drink-driving.
Buncrana Roads Policing unit were conducting a Covid-19 patrol when they encountered a car that had no insurance and the NCT had expired in early 2019.
The driver was arrested for the offence of drink driving.
A Garda spokesperson said “Please do not risk your life and the lives of others by getting behind the wheel of a car when you have consumed alcohol.
“Our checkpoints and patrols are ongoing both during the day and at night.”
