Staff from a popular Letterkenny retail store have started a new fitness fundraiser on the right foot!

The team of 29 colleagues have already raised over €1,000 in two days in a 5-5-5 challenge for Donegal Hospice.

Fundraising from home while the store is closed, they are all doing a 5K walk or run (within 2km limit), donating €5 and nominating 5 people to do the same.

The campaign was inspired by an article on Donegal Daily highlighting the Together for Hospice, The National Hospice Movement and the unprecedented funding challenges facing Donegal Hospice due to Covid-19.

The article led store manager Sarah McCarron to motivate her team to do something positive in their free time to support this a vital service in the local area.

The fitness fundraiser is well on its way to reaching its first goal of €1,200 and you can visit the GoFundMe page at: https://www.gofundme.com/f/e8yr2
