Garda warning after speeding and drugs detections on Donegal roads

Gardaí in Donegal are pleading with drivers not to risk their lives and the lives of other road users by making poor decisions this Bank Holiday.

The warning comes following two serious breaches of road traffic laws today.

A motorist was clocked speeding at 156 km/hr in Letterkenny this afternoon.

Earlier this morning, a motorist in Buncrana tested positive for drug driving after cannabis was detected in their system.

Gardaí took to Facebook to urge road users not to put lives in danger: “Please do not take unnecessary risks on the roads. We are out on the roads day and night conducting checkpoints, speed checks and patrols. Do not risk your life and do not risk the lives of others by making poor decisions in relation to road safety. It only takes one poor decision on the roads to destroy lives.”
