A drug-driver was arrested in Letterkenny after travelling 10km for a kebab.
Gardaí detected the driver last night after they made an unnecessary journey to collect friends for a takeaway. The driver was then tested for drugs and tested positive for the presence of Cannabis.
The car was also seized for having no insurance.
The driver will appear in court at a future date.
Gardaí took to Facebook today to share details of the incident and advise the public that Covid-19 checkpoints are continuing across the county.
A spokesperson said: “The journey concluded with no car and no Kebabs!
“Our checkpoints and patrols have not stopped. They are ongoing and they will continue. Do not drive under the influence of drugs and do not make non essential journeys!”
