Watch: Daniel lifts spirits at Dungloe Community Hospital

Kind-hearted singing star Daniel O’Donnell brought great cheer to Dungloe Community Hospital with a special outdoor concert today.

The singer made the most of the sunshine to perform outside and adhere to social distancing policies.

Windows of the nursing home were opened wide for the music to drift inside to residents’ rooms.

Daniel may be used to singing in front of thousands of fans in concert halls, but he was clearly delighted to stage this local concert and brighten the day for staff and residents at this worrying time. Daniel is always a much-welcomed visitor at Dungloe Hospital and often catches up with everyone on Christmas Day and at various times throughout the year.

Speaking after today’s visit, a staff member said: “Thank you so much to Daniel O’Donnell for coming to entertain the patients and staff of Dungloe Hospital today. It was such a kind gesture and brightened up everyone’s day!”

Daniel is currently staying at home in Kincasslagh for the Covid-19 lockdown period, but he has been busy keeping fans entertained with daily social media updates and video performances. He has also released a new song via Zoom with fellow country singer Sean O’Farrell:
