Ten more people have sadly lost their lives as a result of Covid-19, it has been confirmed.
This brings the number of deaths to 1,497.
A further 159 new cases were confirmed by the Department of Health this evening, bringing the total to 23,401.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that 19,470 people who contracted Covid-19 have recovered, representing 84.3% of all cases.

The latest report from Letterkenny Unversity Hospital, as of 8pm last night, shows that 10 people with Covid-19 were receiving treatment onsite. A further 14 people have suspected cases of the virus. No patients with Covid-19 related illness were recorded in Critical Care.
The HSE has said it is moving to address Covid-19 test results delays with a goal of speeding up the process to three days. The current average turnaround time is nine days.
