Watch: Gardaí make a birthday boy’s dream come true

A young aspiring garda had an unforgettable birthday thanks to local gardaí.

Liam Og from Ramelton celebrated his sixth birthday on Monday with a superb visit from his heroes.

Gardaí from the Milford District treated Liam Og to a birthday drive-by with an impressive show of squad cars, flashing lights and blaring sirens.

Liam Og, who was fully kitted out in his own Garda uniform for the occasion, couldn’t contain his excitement and was over the moon to receive a gift from the guards. Liam wants to be a Policeman when he grows up and his family had planned this special visit many weeks ago.

While ordinary party plans are cancelled for many children due to Covid-19 restrictions, gardaí were delighted to bring the celebrations to this little lad.

Sharing a video on Facebook, gardaí said: “Happy Birthday to Liam and to all the boys and girls who are celebrating their Birthdays at home these days! It is nice to be able to put a smile on someone’s face and what a lovely big smile too!”
