The community of Buncrana has been left shocked and saddened by the passing of popular local pharmacist Declan Mulholland.
Mr Mulholland, of Porthaw and formerly of Moira, Co Down, passed away on Wednesday in Letterkenny University Hospital.
As the owner of Duffy’s Pharmacy Buncrana, he was a key member of the community who went above and beyond to help every customer and colleague.
His death has been marked as a tragic loss to the community and further afield.
A statement from staff at Duffy’s Pharmacy described Mr Muholland as “our boss, our friend and our main man Declan”.

Above all, Mr Mulholland was a family man, a loving husband to his wife Siobhan and a loving father to their four children.
Hundreds of tributes have been paid to Declan on the Duffy’s Pharmacy Facebook page honouring his kind and caring ways and fondly remembering his laugh.
An obituary notice in RIP.ie reads: “Declan will be forever loved and sadly missed by his wife, sons, daughters, his parents Patsy and Angela Mulholland, father-in-law Desmond Walsh, his sister Donna Henderson, his brothers Michael, Mark, Stephen and Terence, his extended family, relatives, friends and all his staff at Duffy’s Chemist.”
Due to Government guidelines regarding public gatherings a private funeral will take place for Declan’s immediate family only. His Requiem Mass can be viewed via Buncrana Parish Facebook page and on www.churchservice.tv/Cockhill on Saturday 23rd May at 11.00am.
