Met Eireann has said that Donegal is to suffer the brunt of a weather warning for today.
AThe national forecaster is the warning at 9am today.
It specifically warned that the northwest would get the brunt of some severe weather, and issued a status yellow wind warning for Donegal.
The warning advises that southwesterly winds will reach mean speeds of 50 of 65 km/h, with gusts of 80 to 90 km/h.
The warning will remain in place until 6pm this evening.
The general advisory notice, which is also in effect until 6pm this evening, warns: “Unseasonably windy weather is expected to affect the country during the period. Given the time of year, there is potential for wind-related impacts such as debris from trees and movement of unsecured outdoor items”
