Deadline extended for Leaving Certificate Grades Portal

The deadline for Leaving Cert students to register online for the Calculated Grades student portal has been extended to midday today, Friday.

The extension was announced last night as it emerged that not all students had applied in time to receive their grades online.

59,859 students out of the total of 61,029 had registered by the 10pm deadline last night.

Speaking on Thursday evening, Minister Joe McHugh said: “We know a small number of students haven’t registered yet. We are extending the deadline for these students until 12pm midday tomorrow, Friday 29 May. Please take this extra opportunity to register if you haven’t yet.

“This is an important first step in the process of Calculated Grades. The Department has already issued guidance to all schools on how to provide estimated marks for students, which emphasise the importance of fairness in this process. The focus now moves on to ensuring that schools send the data required to the Department and this will be the subject of a separate communication to schools.”

It is hoped that the Calculated Grades will issue as close as possible to the usual timeframe for examination results.

The Department has said are some outstanding queries in the portal’s helpdesk system and those are being worked through. The helpdesk will continue to engage with those students over the coming days.

A guide to Calculated Grades and further information on this process is available at gov.ie/leavingcertificate
