Community gardaí in Letterkenny have apologised to local bingo fans after an outdoor bingo event had to be postponed.
The event raised much excitement as it would have been one of the town’s first social events in months.
Plans were in place to host the game on 7th June in the overflow car-park at the rear of the Letterkenny Retail Park – with players remaining in their cars for social distancing. A full house was looking likely as bingo fans began booking their spots last week.
However, gardaí say the non-profit event has to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
“We are most sorry for the disappointment caused,” said spokesperson Garda Grainne Doherty.
Gardaí from the Community Policing Unit are making contact with anybody who has booked to date.
