The Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce is celebrating everything local as retail businesses reopen in Phase 2 of the roadmap.
Now is the time to support local, they say, and give back to the businesses who have always been at the heart of the local economy and the community.
Business owners and local representatives gathered at the Polestar Roundabout this morning to promote the ‘Support Local’ message.
What was thought to be a three-week closure became three months, but now businesses are relieved to be back and are feeling confident about the ‘new normal’ and extra safety measures.
Jimmy Stafford, the President of the Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce commented on the great reaction so far to reopenings from Monday.
He said: “We want to see people supporting local businesses who supported clubs, charities, schools, and other organisations for years with sponsorships. Now it’s time to come out and look at local websites, a lot of retailers have been forced to go online. Now is your opportunity to shop online locally and support local.”
Toni Forrester, CEO of Letterkenny Chamber said: “Our business community have really come together at this time. Remember, they are there supporting local groups and supporting local community and we would love you all to come out and support the local economy and buy local where you can and join us in celebrating Letterkenny reopening again.”
