The public has been asked to be patient as one of Donegal’s most iconic tourism sites remains closed to the public.

The visitor’s centre and access routes to Sliabh Liag remains closed despite the opening of other sites across the county.

Local county councillor Niamh Kennedy asked people to be patient.

She said “Do not visit the site as the gates remain locked. The opening date will be announced shortly.

“Please in the interests of safety do not visit just yet.”
