Met Eireann has issued another weather alert for Donegal as thunderstorms and lightning are set to strike again.
While much of the county enjoyed summer sunshine today, many parts of south Donegal were hit with thunder and torrential downpours. Power cuts affected large parts of Ballyshannon this afternoon.
Forecasters are warning that the stormy conditions will resume again on Monday.
“Thunderstorm/lightning activity will develop on Monday especially in parts of the midlands, west and north,” the advisory said.
The advisory notice is valid from 6am to 11pm on Monday.
A Status Yellow thunder warning remains in place for Donegal until 11pm tonight (Sunday).
The outlook for the week said Ireland can expect unsettled weather. There will be occasional sunny spells but a warm, humid and unstable airmass over Ireland will spark off some afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the early days of next week.
