Donegal County Council is set to cut back some trees and plants from Letterkenny’s Market Square to allow for more outdoor seating.

The works will make way for businesses to add seating outside as they reopen under Covid-19 social distancing regulations.

Cllr Donal Coyle, the new Mayor of Letterkenny, brought forward a motion on the matter at the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District AGM.

Cllr Coyle said that businesses located on the square are hoping to provide seating this summer. The motion was passed after being seconded by Cllr Ciaran Brogan.
