THOUSANDS of homes in Donegal are without electricity this morning.
Donegal has been lashed by thunder and lightening and large swathes of the county have been left without power.
Power cuts are affecting areas of Letterkenny, Carndonagh, Stranorlar, Killybegs, Lifford and Newtown.
It is estimated that power will be restored by 1pm.
“We apologise for the loss of supply,” an ESB spokesperson said.
“We are currently working to repair a fault affecting and will restore power as quickly as possible.”
