Met Eireann has increased today’s rain warning for Donegal to Status Orange.
There is a risk of river flooding and localised spot flooding as heavy persistent rain lashes the north west.
An additional 50 to 60mm of rainfall is possible throughout today (Sunday) and Monday.
The weather alert has been issued for Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim from 11am until 12noon on Monday 29th June.
Meanwhile, a Status Yellow wind warning is also in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
Met Eireann forecasts that westerly winds will hit, with mean speeds of 50 to 60km/h and gusts up to 100km/h. This warning is valid until 10pm tonight.
