GARDAÍ are urging holiday home owners to have their premises checked.
The warning comes after reports of substantial damage to a property in Portsalon.
The crime was only reported yesterday and is believed to have happened across a timely period between March 12 and June 24.
A window at the home, which is under construction, was smashed. Substantial damage was caused to a sliding door and entry was gained.
The house has been empty for some time.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Anyone who has a holiday home that has not been visited in a while, maybe now is a good time to get the premises checked.”
