Face coverings will be mandatory on all public transport in Ireland from Monday, 13th July.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has announced the new law which will enforce the rule for all public transport users to limit the spread of Covid-19.
People who refuse to comply with the law may not be allowed to travel on buses, trains and trams.
The new regulations are due to be signed tonight.
The Government will also encourage people to wear face coverings outside of public transport system, such as at crowded indoor gatherings and in places where social distancing is not possible.
