No more deaths, 16 new cases in NI as Covid cluster identified in Co Derry

THERE have been no further Covid-19 related deaths recorded in Northern Ireland.

Today’s figures from the Department of Health show that the region’s death toll remains at 556.

Another 16 positive cases have been confirmed.

Since the outbreak, there have been 5,815 infections.

Four of those new cases have been recorded in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.

To date there have been 28 deaths from Coronavirus in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.

The Public Health Agency has identified a cluster of Covid-19 cases in County Derry.

The agency says it is linking them to a social gathering in a private or residential setting in Limavady.

In a statement, the agency said: “Testing and contact tracing is being carried out to identify anyone who may be potentially affected and to help prevent any further spread.”
