Donegal County Council is being urged to address parking problems at a popular Donegal beauty spot.

In recent days Marble Hill near Dunfanaghy has been a hive of activity.

However, there has also been major traffic jams in the area because of the lack of parking.

Local business owners and residents say a solution must be found to what is becoming an intolerable situation in the summer months.

One local, who asked not to be named, said “It’s almost impossible to get through Marble Hill at times. On Thursday and Friday of this week, it was a hazard.

“If an emergency vehicle was trying to get through here it would not have been physically able to it was that busy.

“Cars were parked on both sides of what is already a narrow road. God forbid if a child walked out from between cars.

“The council needs to have a look at the address and if need be put a public parking area in along the area. There is plenty of space adjacent to the beach.

“Marble Hill is hugely popular but there is simply nowhere for people to park,” he said.
