Whilst champions Setanta sack back and watched on, the Donegal SHC opened this afternoon with Buncrana posting an excellent win in Burt.

At Hibernian Park, the visitors Buncrana continued their upward trajectory in recent years with a 0-15 to 1-8 success, with Jack O’Loughlin doing most of the damage with seven points.

Sam Roe and Dillion Duffy also scored a couple of points each, with PJ McCarron, Daniel Wilson, Paul Tourish and Oisin Grant also getting on the scoreboard.

Buncrana were in a fine position at 0-10 to 0-3 in front at the break and although Joe Boyle scored a 20-metre free for the hosts and Caolan McDermott scored 0-7, it was Buncrana’s day.
