A community campaigner has issued a warning to people not to be taken in by a scam claiming they owe money for medication.
Glenties community activist Brian Carr said he has received a number of calls about the scam.
He urged people who are worried they may be a victim of the scam to contact their local gardai or pharmacy.
He revealed “People in the Glenties area have received calls to say they owe money for medication that they have received.
“This sounds to be a legitimate call from the HSE but it is a HOAX.
“Please do not give any card details to anyone.
“If in any doubt about any payments for medication please contact your local pharmacy. Please make everyone aware of this.”
It is not known if anyone has been left out of pocket as a result of the latest scam.
