If you see Hendrik Ketelaar on the road today, make sure to show your support!

The Clare man is on his second last day of a ‘Wild Tour’ of Ireland in aid of the Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust.

Hendrik has already received a warm Donegal welcome as he travels through South Donegal. He will make his way around the entire Donegal coastline as part of the gruelling 2220km cycle from Kinsale to Derry.

The eventful nine day solo cycle is all for an important cause. Hendrik, a native of the Netherlands, is fundraising as a thank you to the charity that offered vital support to his brother in law.

Hendrik shared the inspiration for his cycle in his GoFundMe story: “My brother in law, Gary O’ Callaghan was a recipient of the BMLT funded life- saving care and accommodation in 2015 and I am delighted to say that he has since made a full recovery following a stem cell transplant from his donor, his brother Mike.

“Supporting this fundraiser will help the BMLT to continue their support to others who may require related critical care into the future. 70% of your donation will go towards this charity.”

Hendrik will also donate 30% of funds raised to his local Crusheen GAA club, where three of his teenage sons are involved in hurling.
