Roadworks for the week ahead in Letterkenny

Irish Water has issued a notice of upcoming works in Letterkenny this week, which will lead to some traffic disruptions.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead for their journeys.

Glencar: Works are due to continue from Glencar Road/ Circular Road roundabout towards McGovern Road on the Glencar Road Upper.

The first section of the works will be carried out via 3-way traffic light system from Glencar Roundabout to the Solomons Court/Dr. McGinley Road junction. These works are due to be completed on Tuesday, 28 July.

The second section of work will consist of a road closure between Solomons Court/ Dr. McGinley Road junction and McGovern Road. A diversion will be in place via Solomons Court Road towards Killylastin Heights. This section of works will commence on Tuesday, 28 July and continue for one week.

Works on the Joe Bonnar Road in Letterkenny

Joe Bonnar Road: Works are progressing to replace approximately 240 metres of sewer on the Joe Bonnar Road. These works will not impact traffic.

Upcoming water main works:

N13 Letterkenny (Between Veagh and Dry Arch Roundabout):

Works will be carried out in this area as part of the Letterkenny Sewerage Scheme. Traffic management cones and signs will be in place in the N13 Letterkenny-bound hard shoulder between Veagh and Dry Arch roundabouts to facilitate testing of the new trunk main. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times.

N56 Middle Road: Traffic management cones and signs will be in place on the N56 Middle Road, between Kiltoy Roundabout, Veagh and Carnamuggagh to facilitate testing of the new trunk main.  Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times.
