NAOMH Conaill eased to victory over Dungloe at Davy Brennan Memorial Park this afternoon.

Naomh Conaill 1-14 Dungloe 0-7

The reigning county champions won by ten points after surging away in the final quarter with Charles McGuinness’s (pictured) late goal compounding the woe for battling Dungloe.

The teams were level, at 0-4 apiece, by the 16th minute, with Donegal ace Ciaran Thompson landing two points for the hosts.

Daniel Ward, who finished with 0-5, hit two for Dungloe, while Danny Rodgers, the goalkeeper, landed a ’45.

Thompson, Nathan Byrne and Eoghan McGettigan helped Naomh Conaill to lead 0-7 to 0-5 at the break.

Martin Regan sprang Dermot Molloy, Ultan Doherty, Jeaic Mac Ceallabhui and Malachy Boyle off the bench at half-time.

Molloy kicked two points as Naomh Conaill led 0-10 to 0-7 by the 45th minute, when a Ward brace had concluded the Dungloe scoring for the day.

Naomh Conaill pulled away with McGuinness firing to the net after replacement goalkeeper Ciaran Sharkey – who came in for the injured Rodgers in the second half – saved his penalty.
