Gardai are hunting vandals who chopped down trees and wrecked flowerbeds in an Inishowen town last night.

Locals in Carndonagh woke up to the vandalism this morning.

More than fifteen trees were snapped in half and flowerbeds were also damaged in the attack.

Local county councillor Martin McDermott described the incident as “disgusting.”

He said

“These people have no regard for the huge amount of work been done by the tidy town committee and the community in Carndonagh,” he said.

He appealed to anybody who may have witnessed the attack to contact Gardai on 0749374109 with any information.
