A gang of shoplifters used foil-lined bags to steal €2,000 worth of clothes from a shop in Letterkenny.
Gardaí are investigating the elaborate theft which occurred last Thursday 23rd July.
The gang are believed to be the same group who were caught stealing €450 worth of perfume from another store on the same day.
The group were found to be using freezer food bags along with an extra layer of tin foil to avoid setting off security scanners.
They were ‘foiled’ in their attempt to steal perfume in one store, where security staff observed their actions on CCTV before confronting them. The perfume was recovered before the suspects made off on foot.

However, another shop was not as fortunate as they were hit with the same style of theft. The thieves made off with approximately €2,000 worth of clothes.
Gardaí are analysing CCTV footage as part of the investigations.
They are also appealing to shop-owners and staff to be aware that such robberies are now being carried out.
