THE Naomh Conaill GAA club have suspended all activities, pending a Covid-19 test result.

Naomh Conaill, who the reigning Donegal SFC winners, have taken the decision to suspend all activity at all grades.

Naomh Conaill are the third Donegal club to take such a measure in the last couple of weeks.

Naomh Colmcille temporarily suspended activity as a precaution having played Derry club Glack in a challenge game. Naomh Conaill did not field in a League encounter away to Gaeil Fhánada.

At the weekend, Cloughaneely did likewise after a member reported positive symptoms in a questionnaire.

Cloughaneely’s Regional League game against St Michael’s was rescheduled from Saturday to Sunday after a test returned a negative result.

Naomh Conaill are scheduled to begin the defence of their Donegal SFC title on Saturday at home to Milford.

A statement from the club said: “Due to a pending Covid-19 test result, the club has taken the decision to suspend all activities in all age grades and codes pending result of the test.

“The club has informed CLG Dhun na nGall and will be acting on the guidelines issued by CLG Dhun na nGall, the GAA and the HSE.

“The club has since returning to play adhered to GAA and HSE guidelines and the wellbeing of our members and community is paramount in everything we do.”
