The house was built in the early 1800s as a ‘Dower House’ for the McClintock Family – a home for a widow close to the main house of her late husband’s estate at Dunmore House.
It was later home to Francis Heron, a Ramelton native, who emigrated to Canada and became a proprietor of the Hudson Bay Company. The current owners have be restoring and preserving the house for over 46 years.
