Job Vacancies: Promise Gluten Free are currently recruiting for a number of vacancies at their bakery in Ardara, Co Donegal.
Promise Gluten Free, previously known as Gallagher’s Bakery, was a family run business that spent years developing and refining their recipes to develop a range of gluten free products that do not compromise on taste and quality. The bakery was purchased by a London based Private Equity firm in 2017, and has ambitious plans to be a leading worldwide supplier of gluten free products.
We wish to strengthen our team and have the following exciting vacancies available –
Shift Maintenance Technician – Permanent role
You will play a pivotal part of the maintenance team based in our bakery in Ardara, Co Donegal. Reporting to the Head of Maintenance, the shift maintenance technician is responsible for the execution of the preventive and corrective maintenance programme as per the company’s requirements at our facility in Ardara, Co. Donegal. Process improvement will also be an important part of this role.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2 years’ experience in an Electrical or Mechanical maintenance role in a fast-paced production environment.
- Candidates should have completed a recognised apprenticeship or hold a formal qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook/Report writing/trouble shooting – and a willingness to learn and upskill will form an important part of this role
- Safe Pass

- Self-motivated, taking the initiative and driving tasks through to completion
- Solution orientated, proactive and able to take ownership and work on own initiative

General Operatives
Reporting to the shift manager, you will perform a broad variety of tasks to support the operations team in the completion of daily and weekly production objectives. You will be focused on ensuring that all areas of the facility run smoothly and are kept to a suitably high standard of cleanliness, ensuring the highest production and hygiene standards across the facility.

- Flexibility / adaptability (shifts/overtime hours)
- Ability to show initiative
- Fork Lift license an advantage but not essential
