A large number of homes and business in Letterkenny are without water this Thursday due to a burst water main.

Residents of College Farm Road, New Line Road, Beechwood Avenue, Iona Road, Glencar Park, Glencar Road, and surrounding areas have been affected by the outage.

The issue has been reported to Irish Water and repairs are being carried out.

It is estimated that works will be completed by 4pm.

A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works.

An earlier outage at Isle Lane in Letterkenny is said to be restored.
