Carndonagh teen in court on three public order charges

A CARNDONAGH man appeared in court on three public order charges.

Jack Walton (19) was before Letterkenny District Court on charges relating to alleged incidents on August 1, 2020 and August 2, 2020.

Walton is charged with failing to comply with the direction of Gardai on August 1 at The Diamond, Carndonagh.

On the same date, Walton is charged with using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.

Walton was also charged with failing to comply with the direction of Gardaí on August 2 at Radharc na Tra Breige, Malin.

Walton made no reply when charged.

Asked by Judge Deirdre Gearty if he understood the charges, Walton replied: ‘Yes’.

Walton was accompanied by his mother to court. He did not have legal representation and later Mr Frank Dorrian was appointed.

Mr Dorrian applied to obtain CCTV footage.

Judge Gearty adjourned the case until the November 12 sitting of Buncrana District Court.
