Met Eireann has issued a nationwide weather warning as strong winds strike Ireland this week.
There will be a risk of damaging winds and coastal flooding on Wednesday night and Thursday, with a status yellow wind warning in place for all counties.
“It will become very windy on Wednesday night and throughout the day on Thursday. Severe gusts are likely and there is a risk of some disruption,” forecasters have warned.
“Due to the combination of storm surge, spring tides and onshore winds there is a potential risk of coastal flooding.”
The warning is valid from 21:00 Wednesday until 23:59 Thursday.
Further rainfall warnings are likely and possible wind warnings, said Met Eireann, as an area of low pressure tracks close to the west coast on Thursday and Friday.
