A major search operation has been launched off Teelin after a trawler was spotted washed up against rocks.
A number of boats and the Rescue 118 was rushed to the scene this evening after the boat was discovered.
A winchman was lowered onto the deck but nobody was found on board.
A full investigation is now underway to see if there had been any crew on the vessel and its origins.
The incident is being co-ordinated by the Malin Head Coastguard station.
