The Diamond in Donegal Town will be filled with superb music this Saturday afternoon for a special fundraiser for ‘A Better Life for Livie’.
The O’ Donnell School of Traditional Music and friends are tuning up for a lively busking session from 1pm to 4pm for Baby Livie Mulhern.
Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the music, in keeping with guidelines, and to donate to the fund.
The ‘Better Life for Livie’ campaign has reached a crucial week as baby Olivia Mulhern, who has spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) type 1, turns one today. Her parents, Keith, who is from Donegal Town, and Karen Vickers from Dublin, have just €15,000 left to raise of their €2million goal to fund a potentially life-saving treatment for the progressive disease. Unfortunately, there is no cure, but with enough funds, improvement of Olivia’s young life can be made through treatment in the US.
